Redefining Growth for Fashion Brands: Exploring Non Extractive Value and Resilience

Join Aerielle Rojas as she presents her research on sustainable fashion. In light of brands looking to "redefine growth" and achieve strong resilience for the future, this empirical study bridges that practical gap in understanding what this could look like. Through determining non-extractive value, a new value creation concept, and measuring its impact on organizational resilience, results indicate a positive effect on internal capabilities. The work overall reveals a pragmatic approach to redefine value creation, and even fashion itself.

Our upcoming Student Seminar will be the first session in our new student webinar series. This is the first time we are piloting a student-focused format within the network. We are beginning with three students from Yale University, with the hope of expanding this opportunity to students from other universities in future sessions.

2025 Symposium

The 2nd Symposium of the International Research Network on Sustainable Fashion Consumption, held at the Yale School of Management from October 27-28, 2025, brings together scholars, students, and practitioners to explore fair and sustainable fashion consumption. Discussions will cover topics like second-hand shopping, slow fashion, affordability, and policy initiatives. The event includes research sessions, a student colloquium, and a showcase for practical projects. An optional third day on Wednesday, October 29th includes a Green Fashion Tour in New Haven, CT which will highlight sustainable initiatives. Hosted by Yale’s Center for Business and the Environment, the symposium is free for accepted participants.
