Pratyusha Kiran is a Science, Technology, and Society (STS) researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow at Southern Methodist University, with a PhD in STS from Virginia Tech. Her research sits at the intersection of consumption, justice, and chemical governance in fashion.

Her current project follows PFAS ("forever chemicals") through the clothing supply chain, tracing how the harms reach workers who make garments and consumers who wear them, and how the burden falls unequally by gender, race, and class. As an STS scholar, she studies fashion's sustainability from a sociotechnical perspective, holding the chemical, the worker, and the consumer in one frame.
