Dr. Pratyusha Kiran

Dr. Pratyusha Kiran is a Science and Technology Studies (STS) scholar examining chemical risk, sustainability, and knowledge in the global fashion system.
She is the founder of the Fashion Toxicology Initiative (fashiontoxicology.com), which studies PFAS and other hazardous chemicals in everyday clothing and how knowledge of them reaches, or fails to reach, workers, manufacturers, regulators, and consumers. Dr. Kiran holds a PhD in STS from Virginia Tech and is a researcher at Southern Methodist University.
Drawing on eight years of fashion industry research, her work bridges environmental health, supply chains, and sustainable consumption.
