Mary S. Ruppert-Stroescu

Mary Ruppert-Stroescu earned her PhD in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri. Currently an Associate Professor at Washington University in the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, her research focuses on the study and application of creativity, particularly through the exploration of sustainable fashion design and production, as well as developing wearable electronic textile-based sensing systems for health and well-being. Ruppert-Stroescu is operationalizing her patent for textile upcycling and sustainable garment design as RECLÉM LLC www.reclem.com and her TEDx St. Louis talk, 3 Problems with sustainable fashion, has over 25,000 views.
