Affiliation: Division of Environment and Sustainability, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Meike’s research combines life cycle assessment (LCA), behavioural research, and industrial ecology to examine the environmental impacts of consumption systems and opportunities for circular business models, particularly in East Asian urban contexts. Her interest in fashion consumption emerged through international comparative research on changing clothing acquisition behaviours and sustainability attitudes during COVID-19. She also participated in the Joyful Closet Consumption Challenge, an experiment exploring barriers and motivations related to reducing clothing consumption. In her teaching, Meike uses AI-enabled and game-based learning to foster systems thinking and behaviour change.
