Hien Dao is a lecturer in fashion design at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). Now based in the U.S., she continues to foster industry–university collaborations. Her research is data-driven: she employs behavioral experiments, causal inference, life-cycle assessment, and supply-chain mapping to examine fashion’s social and environmental impacts.

She focuses on applied behavioral interventions that deliver measurable outcomes, such as reducing textile waste and shifting consumer habits. Her work spans cross-cultural contexts, bridging Western systems and behavioral theory with practice in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
