Mirjam-Sarah “Mia” Lepp is a PhD candidate in Digital Fashion Communication at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano, Switzerland. She researches fashion literacy and among her interests are how new technologies (such as digital product passports) can influence consumers’ understanding of fashion, sustainability, and product literacy.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in media communication studies and marketing at Florida State University. After completing a Master’s degree in Digital Fashion Communication jointly at USI and Sorbonne Paris 1.

Before entering academia, Mia worked for 7 years in digital marketing, specifically social media, for global brands in the US and Europe, including BCBGMAXAZRIA, Adidas, and Fabletics.
