Dr. Meital Peleg Mizrachi is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Economics at Yale University and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut (UConn). She specializes in environmental policy, sustainable fashion, and public policy. Her research explores the intersection of environmental and social sustainability, with a particular focus on secondhand clothing markets, fashion consumption patterns, regulatory frameworks, and the global trade of used clothing, especially in Ghana.

She serves as an Executive Board Member of the International Sustainable Fashion Consumption Research Network and is a former research leader of Moving the Needle, a Yale-based initiative promoting research and education on sustainable fashion. Meital has over nine years of experience conducting research, teaching, and supervising students in the fields of environmental studies, fashion, and public policy. Her work has been published in leading academic journals as well as in popular media outlets, including Vogue, the BBC, and The Wall Street Journal. Her multidisciplinary background bridges academia and real-world impact, contributing to global conversations on sustainability, labor conditions, and ethical fashion consumption.

In 2021, she was selected for the list of 40 promising young people under the age of 40 by TheMarker magazine due to her activities in the field of fashion and the environment.
