Dr Claudia E. Henninger is a Professor in Sustainability in Textile and Fashion in the Department of Materials, The University of Manchester.
Her research interest and passion are surrounding sustainability in the fashion industry, with a specific focus on the circular economy and end-of-life of garments.
Her recent work focuses on reducing “textile waste” and processes to re-loop these back into the economy, through, for example, upcycling practices or modes facilitated by disruptive business model innovations, such as swapping or renting.
Claudia is an advocate for interdisciplinary research and currently works on a variety of projects that centre on microfibre pollution and prevention.
