      <image:caption>Since 2013 the focus of my research has been on “sustainable fashion consumption”. For my doctoral thesis, I worked on the concept of collaborative fashion consumption in a cross-cultural context. For about three years (2016-2019) I was research fellow in a real-laboratory project “Dietenheim zieht an” at the Ulm University. Since September 2019 I hold a postdoctoral research position at Technische Universität Berlin, working in a project on “education for sustainable fashion consumption with positive spillover effects through real-life experiments”. As a part of this transformational real-laboratory research, pupils will develop, implement, and evaluate real-life experiments for sustainable fashion consumption (e.g. a clothing library or a sewing café), together with scientists, teachers and other practitioners (more info: https://www.aloenk.tu-berlin.de/menue/forschung/bntextillabor/).</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Dr. Meital Peleg Mizrachi is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Economics at Yale University and an Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut (UConn). She specializes in environmental policy, sustainable fashion, and public policy. Her research explores the intersection of environmental and social sustainability, with a particular focus on secondhand clothing markets, fashion consumption patterns, regulatory frameworks, and the global trade of used clothing, especially in Ghana. She serves as an Executive Board Member of the International Sustainable Fashion Consumption Research Network and is a former research leader of Moving the Needle, a Yale-based initiative promoting research and education on sustainable fashion. Meital has over nine years of experience conducting research, teaching, and supervising students in the fields of environmental studies, fashion, and public policy. Her work has been published in leading academic journals as well as in popular media outlets, including Vogue, the BBC, and The Wall Street Journal. Her multidisciplinary background bridges academia and real-world impact, contributing to global conversations on sustainability, labor conditions, and ethical fashion consumption. In 2021, she was selected for the list of 40 promising young people under the age of 40 by TheMarker magazine due to her activities in the field of fashion and the environment.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Dr Claudia E. Henninger is a Reader in Fashion Marketing Management in the Department of Materials, The University of Manchester. Her research interest and passion is surrounding sustainability in the fashion industry, with a specific focus on the circular economy. Her recent work focuses on reducing “textile waste” and processes to re-loop these back into the economy, through, for example, upcycling practices or modes facilitated by disruptive business model innovations, such as swapping or renting. Claudia holds a variety of research positions within The University of Manchester, including, but not limited to being the Research Lead for Creative Manchester – Creative Industries and Innovation. She further is an Executive Board Member of the International Research Network of the Sustainable Fashion Consumption Group and an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Sustainable Fashion and Textiles. Claudia has presented her work at various national and international conferences and published her work in world leading journals.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>After working in the fashion industry for 15 years, Dr. Joyner Martinez earned advanced degrees in Apparel and Textiles before joining the professoriate in 2011. She currently teaches courses about the social psychology of clothing, fashion technologies, and mindfulness at Texas State University. Her research has focused on educational mechanisms for sustainable consumption, exploring how personal style and authenticity, minimalism, and mindful consumption may encourage better regulated (mindful) and more meaningful (spiritual) relationships with the clothes. Her current work focuses on the role of spirituality and spiritual practice as mechanisms for mindful consumption, as described in her 2021 publication, Fashion &amp; the Buddha in the Clothing and Textiles Research Journal. She is an international scholar with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and has conducted several large-scale federally-funded research projects. Her publications can be found in the premier sustainability- and fashion-related journals, including the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, International Journal of Consumer Studies, the Journal of Cleaner Production, and Cleaner and Responsible Consumption. She serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Sustainable Fashion and Textiles. Dr. Joyner Martinez is a graduate of the Osage Forest of Peace School of Spiritual Direction, and she holds a teacher certification with the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults. She created The Mindful Dresser to encourage other scholars to consider mindfulness and spirituality as important levers of experience that deserve more attention in consumption related research.</image:caption>

Heather also leads the marketing and communications efforts at CBEY, informing the public about who we are and what we do. She enjoys telling stories about our people and projects, as well as sharing the many resources we develop to help alumni and others working to create a just and thriving world. She also takes great joy in watering the office plants and seeing them thrive :) Additionally, Heather is the Staff Lead of the Business and the Environment Learning Communityat the Yale School of the Environment. In this role, she helps create co-curricular opportunities for students digging into how business must create more sustainable approaches to meet human needs. Prior to joining CBEY, Heather worked as Assistant Director at the Yale Center for Customer Insights at the Yale School of Management. There she developed a breadth of marketing and communication programs, engaged with students on research projects, and directed the center’s events. Throughout it all, she managed projects big and small with grace and focus. Heather has nearly 20 years of experience in marketing and customer insights, working with global brands such as Coca-Cola, Procter &amp; Gamble and McDonald’s to evaluate and improve their communication strategies. At the start of her career, she was part of a consortium that pioneered online research in its infancy, bringing together practitioners and researchers to build best practices. A mother of three, she enjoys gardening, hiking with her dogs, finding fantastic bargains at consignment shops, and spending time with her family.</image:caption>
